The power of words.

Creates Energy.

Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair.

They have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble. Just like eggs dropped from great heights; we can no more call them back than ignore the mess they leave when they fall.

The human tongue is a beast that very few can master. It strains constantly to break out of its cage, and if it is not tamed, it will turn wild and cause you grief.

It can be bullets or seeds when used as an attitude of superiority and condemnation. It becomes difficult to restore our relationship to love.

Seeds.

When they are used as seeds with a feeling of supportiveness and sincere goodwill, we can rebuild a relationship in positive and life-affirming ways.

If it were a cocktail, it would be a mixture of two tablespoons of romance, one tablespoon of passion and three tablespoons of love all mixed together.

It can ignite a fire in the mind of a kind person or bring tears from the hardest hearts. In expert hands, manipulated deftly, it takes you, prisoner.

It winds around our limbs like spider silk, and when we are so enthralled we cannot move, it pierces our skin, enter our blood, numb our thoughts. Inside us, it works its magic.

We must never assume that the person we are dealing with is weaker or less important than we are. Some people are slow to take offence, which may make us misjudge the thickness of their skin, and fail to worry about insulting them.

But should you offend their honour and their pride, they will overwhelm you with violence that seems sudden and extreme given their slowness to anger.

If you want to turn people down, it is best to do so politely and respectfully, even if you feel their offer is ridiculous.

I write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect. Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

Inspire.

With words we can influence someone into thinking something, it is the way we communicate and learn. It can allow someone to take over our mind completely, while actions can only force us to do something out of fear.

Because words, language, through reading, arrives in the mind like pure thought, unmediated, like telepathy. A writer’s ideas, her words, right there in our brain can change minds, change hearts, change everything.

Communication, integrity, inclusion, and sensitivity to the needs of a community round out the qualities and characteristics of an inspirational leader.

No one is inspired by a leader whom people think does not care about them.

While the person who originally spoke them may have been silenced, the words live on with a capacity to change the world through all those who embrace them.

They are definitely more powerful than guns. Think of other particularly powerful words: thank you; I’m sorry; I love you; hope; trust; courage and peace.

Actions prove who someone really is while words only show what someone wants to be, but when we use words as our actions, we probably won’t stop talking.

We can apologize for our mistakes over and over, but if our actions do not change, the words become meaningless.

The effectiveness of a word to express the exact shade of meaning desired and to fit into the rhythmical structure of a phrase or sentence creates its value.

The words we write or speak to others can leave a huge impact and create a lasting memory either good or bad. It’s super important to choose them wisely.

They can make or break a relationship and our choice of words and the way we express ourselves can accelerate or kill our career.
